Admission
Students of the Higher Professional Schools of Graubünden in Tourism and the Hotellerie, graduates of other Swiss higher professional schools in tourism and the hotel industry as well as students with a similar educational level from abroad can be admitted to the Summer School. They need English language skills at level B2.
Transfer opportunities to the FHGR Chur
After successful completion of the Summer School, you have the unique opportunity to enter the Bachelor program at the FHGR Chur. In full-time studies you can acquire the title «Bachelor of Science FHO in Tourism» in one year. In the part-time course, the title «Bachelor of Science FHO in Tourism Major Service Design» is awarded after three semesters.
Content of study
You will deepen your tourism-specific knowledge and learn how destinations, service and transport companies are successfully managed. You will learn by means of real practical examples and excursions and apply what you have learned directly in case studies.The study programme includes ideally coordinated modules and builds on the contents of the higher technical schools in tourism and the hotel industry. You will also acquire specific specialist skills and deepen your knowledge in excursions and practical projects.
Duration of study
The Summer School, which takes place over two summers, lasts four weeks and takes place from the beginning of July to the beginning of August (week 28-31).

The Summer School takes place in Samedan in the Upper Engadine, on the campus of the HFT Graubünden.
Tuition Fees
For students who have been resident in Switzerland or the Principality of Liechtenstein for at least two years before the start of their studies, the costs amount to CHF 1260 for the entire duration of the Summer School (CHF 960 tuition fees and a registration fee of CHF 300). For all other students, the cost is CHF 1850 for the entire duration of the Summer School (CHF 1550 tuition fees and CHF 300 enrolment fee).

Target audience
The CAS Tourism 4.0 is aimed at professionals who are already active in tourism and want to expand their knowledge. Due to the optional module Tourism Basics, CAS is also suitable for people who are planning a (re-)entry into the tourism industry.
Due to the modular structure of the course, individual modules can also be attended independently of the acquisition of the certificate. The further education course CAS Tourism 4.0 consists of four specialist modules and a certificate work in the form of a practical case study.
Participation in the modules Digital Transformation and Digital Marketing & Sales is mandatory in order to obtain the certificate. The other two modules can be freely selected from the following four optional modules:

- Alpine Destination Management
The Bachelor program gives you the opportunity to expand your strategic management skills in a variety of ways in order to help shape hotel management as an inspiring personality. The BSc program takes you through three academic semesters, which correspond to the curriculum of the renowned Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne. The first semester builds on the knowledge of your HF diploma course, expanding it with challenging topics and tasks in the areas of business analysis, applied management, communication and corporate culture.
Working in groups will be another important part of your studies. The aim is to further develop and promote your leadership skills. In the second semester, your know-how in strategic and integrated hotel management will be deepened and the application implemented in a practice-oriented manner using exciting case studies. Our lecturers will support you with their well-founded expert knowledge. An attractive part of the third semester is that you can additionally diversify your studies with three optional subjects. You will successfully complete your Bachelor's degree in International Hospitality Management with a project paper or thesis.

The course can be completed in two variants.
Variant with internship year:
With this study model, an internship year of at least 10 months is completed during the 3rd and 4th semesters. In the first and third academic year, students devote themselves to studying at the HFT Graubünden.
Variant with seasonal positions summer & winter:
Since autumn 2014, HFT Graubünden has been offering a further study option - with seasonal positions in summer & winter. This means that the students work in a tourist business in summer and winter, and in the intermediate seasons (spring and autumn) they pursue their studies at HFT Graubünden.
In both study variants, the practical application is an integral part of this course and serves to learn to apply the acquired knowledge in everyday professional life.

Service designers are characterized by a strong interest in people they like to observe and to whom they want to listen attentively in order to sense potential for renewal, optimization or adaptation. Typical service design professionals are creative, full of ideas and they are perceived as unconventional out-of-the-box thinkers. In addition, they show courage in planning and implementation, and they have a healthy relationship to entrepreneurial risk.
The Bachelor's degree in Service Design is a part-time course in tourism. Classes take place on two weekdays. We recommend a maximum workload of 50% during your studies.

The subject matter is taught in 7 modules. Then internal oral and written examinations take place. After the examination discussion, the students are prepared for the federal examination in the last module. Subsequently, an optional intensive revision course is offered and students have the opportunity to take internal preparatory examinations.
In modules 2-6 the participants stay overnight in a hotel, in modules 1 and 7 on campus. We cover the entire accommodation costs.
The course programme prepares the students for the federal vocational examination and covers all important aspects of modern marketing: self- and project management, analysis, market services, communication and distribution, concepts, digital marketing and communication instruments.
Successful graduates of the federal examination receive the title «Marketingfachfrau/-mann mit eidg. Fachausweis».

Exam dates
The federal professional examination to become a marketing specialist usually takes place every year. The written examination is normally held in March and the oral examination in April.

The course material is taught in 7 modules parallel to the marketing course. Subsequently, students are individually prepared for the federal examination for sales professionals. An optional intensive repetition course tailored specifically to the sales profession is offered and students have the opportunity to take internal preparatory examinations. In modules 2-6 the participants stay overnight in a hotel, in modules 1 and 7 on campus. We cover the entire accommodation costs.
You will receive comprehensive business and economic knowledge, which will enable you to assess your environment correctly. After your training, you will be able to independently manage all sales tasks in the office and field service or in key account management. This includes responsibility for controlling and goal achievement.
Successful graduates of the federal examination are awarded the title «Sales specialist with federal professional qualification». After the 7 modules «Marketing Basis» you are also ready for the federal examination for marketing specialists.

Content
This course prepares you from a technical and commercial point of view for a flawless order processing of demanding PR tasks. You will learn to assume responsibility for the handling of cost, deadline and quality controls, in particular in connection with the design and production of PR resources and the implementation of events. After the course, you will be able to comprehensively take care of the conceptual, technical and editorial implementation of PR resources and measures and will have a significant impact on these.

The SSTH Young Talent Traineeship offers young people without industry or professional experience the unique opportunity to get to know the world of the hotel industry and thus meet the requirements for entering the hotel management school. The hotel industry is a fascinating workplace and the traineeship is intended to awaken the fire for it.
The practical year consists of 5 months at the SSTH and up to 7 months as a paid internship in a hotel and restaurant partner in Switzerland or abroad. Alternatively, the internship can also be completed completely abroad. The HF course Dipl. Hôtelière-Restauratrice/Hôtelier-Restaurateur HF will then start.
The new programme will start in August 2017 and is aimed specifically at high school graduates and apprentices from professions outside the sector.
