The FH Graubünden conducts training and further education as well as applied research in eight faculties.

The University of Applied Sciences of the Grisons FHGR is an innovative and entrepreneurial university with about 2400 students. It trains responsible specialists and managers. As a regionally anchored university of applied sciences, the FHGR convinces with its personal atmosphere beyond the cantonal and national borders. With its applied research, it contributes to innovations, knowledge and solutions for society.

The FH Graubünden offers Bachelor's, Master's and continuing education courses in architecture, civil engineering, digital science, management, multimedia production, photonics, technology and tourism. The FH Graubünden conducts applied research and development in all disciplines, offers consulting and services. "Recognised for Excellence" with four stars in the EFQM model confirms the holistic development of the university.

The university is also ISO 9001 and ISO 29990 certified. In 2009, the FHGR was the first public Swiss university to join the United Nations' initiative for responsible education, the UN Principles for Responsible Management Education. The University of Applied Sciences in Graubünden has been part of the FHO University of Applied Sciences Eastern Switzerland since 2000. The history of the HTW Chur began in 1963 with the foundation of the Abendtechnikum Chur.

The Institute for Tourism and Leisure ITF was founded in 1993 as the Institute for Tourism Management together with the Academia Engiadina. In the following years, a tourism competence centre in the field of applied and practice-oriented research was established. The institute employs experts from the disciplines of business, economics and regional economics as well as leisure economics and works in scientific research, training and further education as well as in the field of services for private companies and public institutions. Guided on the one hand by the growing demand of the tourism and leisure industry for innovative solutions, but also in order to meet the need to combine work and education.
