Digitaltour Tourism 4.0

A series of events on the topic of digitisation with tourism 4.0:
How can individual tourism companies benefit from the advantages of digitisation? Which tools and digital strategies can be used to attract new guests and which are used to adapt internal processes?

Digitisation is an enormous challenge for Swiss tourism and at the same time a great opportunity. But how can tourism companies get fit to take advantage of the benefits of digitisation? This question is at the heart of our Digital Tour Tourism 4.0 through the canton of Grisons. We have put together an exciting programme of lectures for you that will provide an insight into theoretical principles and existing practical solutions.

In a preliminary keynote lecture, you will get an overview of the most important technologies and drivers that are relevant for the digitisation of the tourism value chain. In particular, trends will be discussed which especially affect small and medium-sized tourism enterprises and which new possibilities arise for the enterprises.

In two breakout sessions you can choose from three presentations and a corresponding case study. The topics Digital Transformation, Digital Marketing & Sales as well as Service Innovation in the Digital Context are available for selection.

The lecture on digital transformation will focus on the internal view of the company, i.e. which of the operational tasks we will be able to automate in the future or improve with the help of technology or how even entire business models of companies will change. Against this background, IT and management requirements will be examined with the aim of simplifying processes, making companies more agile in their cooperation and achieving quick wins on the market.

The Digital Marketing & Sales department focuses on guest acquisition and guest retention through sophisticated digital strategies, the use of new tools and the use of intelligent data. Tailored to the needs of the tourism industry, you will learn which are the main starting points for becoming visible to new customers in the digital world and for regularly remembering regular guests.

In a high-price country like ours, service quality is crucial to maintaining competitiveness. For this reason, the Service Innovation section of the paper explains what customer-centric tourism services must look like in the digital age and how they can be perfected. New methods such as design thinking and service prototyping, incorporating new digital solutions, play a central role in this, in order to be even more attractive for future guests and target markets.

The presentations will be summarized by a final presentation, which will explain how tourism service providers and destinations in Graubünden are changing from passive users of new technologies to active designers of dynamic changes in the industry. In addition, you will receive valuable information on how you can expand your know-how in the field of digitisation through the training courses presented at the event.
